Custer, Week 4

First a technicality: I should've played the Wrightley household here, but out of the four lots that were started last round, I was much more anxious to see what happened in the other three - so the Wrightleys got pushed back a little. I'll get to them later.



For now, let's focus on the Custer home, where little Arcadia seems about to have a heart attack or something.

"I have a sister!"



Yup. Kora gave birth to her and Ravi's third child. This is Chandra, which is Sanskrit for moon, just like Ravi is Sanskrit for sun. And she has her mother's skintone! I think this may be the first child in Strawberry Fields that's born of one parent with skintone four, and another with skintone one or two, that actually gets the darkest skin. There was one (Keziah Black) that got skintone three...



The following day, Kora prepares for the headmaster visit by making turkey... And thinking about woohoo. Believe me, that's just a small taste of what's to come.



Because Ravi brought Brandi home with him from work, and she immediately sets about trying to destroy the innocence of little Arcadia. I'm still mad at her for getting Romulus a bad date and making Jackson cry, so this is Not A Good Move.



I'm warning you, Brandi, I have a cow plant.



Only a few feet away, Ravi is entertaining the headmaster, and he seems to have fallen in with Kora and Brandi's theme for the day.



Seriously, what's wrong with my sims today?



"So, hehe, how would you feel about me marrying your daughter?"



"If you so much as lay a finger on either of them, I'm going to have to break every bone in your hand."

Good for you, Ravi. Don't forget to tell him that you're a cop, too.



Now let's grow Sorin up during the scenario, okay, so this can be a two-for-one deal.



He's a pirate! He grew up into those clothes, so I added the hat - and then he kept shaking his head or covering his eyes at his reflection until I gave him the face mask as well.

Sorin is the second pirate kid in Strawberry Fields. The first was...



Keisha Nottington, who follows the Custers home from school the very next day.

For a brief second, I pictured these little pirates getting married and living a pirate-y life together. Then I remembered that they're first cousins; in fact, their mothers are twins.



They're cute as pirate cousins, too. And see what I mean about the kids getting light skintones even though one of the parents has the darkest one? There's also Keisha's younger siblings, Freddi Cantrell, the Carr twins, Keren Black, Shayelle Cooper, Julius Bonaccord...



Cousin Keisha gets to witness Chandra's toddler tossing, as does Hogan Cooper, who wandered by the lot earlier and was greeted, since he'll be going to uni with Arcadia.



I thought the trend of tux-wearing toddlers had passed? Guess not.

Chandra is a Cancer, 7/1/5/6/8. With that level of shyness, I hope she isn't going to roll popularity or something of the sort...

Ravi makes Captain Hero and completes his LTW. Arcadia enthusiastically congratulates him.

"Dad, Dad, can I have a goldfish for my birthday present?"



Yes indeed, it's Arcadia's birthday, and she grows up into a very pretty teen, who rolls pleasure. She's drawn to fat blond sims, but dislikes her own red hair. Her LTW is to have 50 dream dates.



We may as well start working on them right away.



"Hmmm, yes, not bad at all."

Steven Phillips is the new paperboy replacing Alon Livingston when he went to college. Some careful questioning reveals that he's a Leo - which makes him popularity - who likes redheads, and his behavior suggests that he's very shy.



After their dream date, he heads right inside to pick up Chandra.



I think he's a keeper, folks.



The next day, Arcadia asks him to go rollerblading with her. Who do they run into, if not Brandi?

"Uh, no thanks. I don't play red hands with people who talk to young girls they just met about woohoo."

That's my girl!



"And I get bored listening to Ricky bragging about how he has two best friends."

Then don't. You're supposed to be on a date, remember?



That's more like it!

But I'm studying their faces, and I kinda think it's the same one, just the male and female versions. It would probably be a bit of a letdown for them to have kids together if that's the case.



While Arcadia dates, Sorin keeps bringing a new friend home from school every day. This is Maura Dante.

"I don't really like playing cops and robbers. See, Grandpa Amin is a real Captain Hero..."

"No way - my dad is the Captain Hero!"

"There can be more than one, you know. Anyway, I heard your dad say he gave it up to become a teacher instead."

"Aw, shoot. You know about that? Please don't tell anyone at school, 'cause a dad that's Captain Hero is way cooler than a lame teacher."

"Sorin ,that's silly. It's school. He's a teacher. People are gonna find out."

"Aw, man."

"Anyway, like I said, Grandpa Amin is Captain Hero, and if he ever finds out Grandma Liza is a criminal mastermind, he's gonna have to arrest her, and it's gonna destroy the whole family. Sure, she wants to retire, but when she does she wants my dad to take over, and having him arrested by Grandpa Amin would be just as bad."

"Your dad and grandma talk to you about this?"

"'Course not. I eavesdrop."



Ahem. Sorry about the slight detour - let's get back to the Custers! Chandra grew up, and I swear half her wants revolve around her big sister's boyfriend. She wants to talk to him, play with him, be friends with him...



He's around a lot of the time anyway, for easy dating access - he and Arcadia are so cute together - so they spent some time fishing together and were soon friends. Of course now Chandra wants to be best friends with him.



"Pirates don't do homework."

They do if they want a chance of going to see the big pirate ship when I get Bon Voyage.

"Sold!"



"Pleasure seekers don't do homework."

They do if they want enough scholarship money to be able to buy a bubbleblower in college.

"Groooaaaan."

(Never mind that the sorority already has one, and every other uni household most certainly could afford one.)



And this was how the kids spent most of the weekend - skilling together. Of course, Arcadia got the occasional break to go on dates, and the kids helped weed the garden, but on the whole I think most of the time was spent right here.


Points this round: 2, one for Ravi becoming Captain Hero, one for Chandra.
