Joe and Marisa Knight seem quite happy to have his son Janson move back home after graduating college. I think they were getting a bit lonely with just the two of them in that big house.

Since he's a family sim whose fiancée is still at uni, Janson needs something to occupy his time; he temporarily goes into paranormal, but switches to education as soon as he gets the chance.

I had plans to have the Knights buy a business, and had already picked the right one for them - but then Marisa went and lost §20,000 on a bad chance card. It took a few promotions before they once again had enough cash for...

Tyke's Tower Toys. Come on, it's got two big knights outside - of course they had to buy it! Joe renamed it Knight's Knicks & Knacks, and they sell basically anything that raises fun, from purely decorative items to to computers, and of course crafted toys.

All three of them take turns at the toy bench, but Joe is the first to get a silver badge...

... while Marisa gets them a good review.
They spent a fairly long time at the business, thanks to energizers, and before they left Marisa had earned §100,000, and Joe §50,000. Marisa had a gold sales badge, while Joe had focused on the registry and restocking, because he seemed to learn selling much more slowly. I eventually figured out it was because he didn't have nearly as many charisma skill points - once he got those, it was much easier.

Buy! Buy! Buy!

Marisa still floats hearts all over the place for any other man who takes her fancy. She's never even met Malcolm before, and the first thing she does is give him a friendly hug. You know, if a complete stranger came up to me wanting to hug me... Nah.

Back home, Janson invited his fiancée Marlee Dante over for a visit so she could get to know his father and stepmother a little better. They're so cute together.

Both being fortune-minded Libras, Joe and Marlee hit it off right away, and both seem fine with the idea that as soon as she graduates...

... she's going to officially join the family.
(And I'm just going to ignore the fact that they have two bolts for each other.)

Their conversation also makes it clear to me that Joe is not thrilled with Seasons. They kept talking about the weather, and every time there was a sun in the picture, Joe smiled, but if it was snow or rain, he was a lot less happy.

See what I mean?

As the week ends, the business is a whopping level 9, and Joe has silver badges in both restocking and registry. Not too shabby. Marisa has a silver in registry and bronze in stocking.

Joe took the weekend off to do some gardening and fishing. Catching boots is no fun, though. While he was doing this, Marisa wrote another bestseller.

The penguin stopped by for a visit right after the season changed to summer.

And Joe grew old. He needs new clothes, but I think the salt-and-pepper look quite suits him.
Points this week: 5, three for Marisa's impossible want, and two for careers. Joe is a mad scientist and Janson was appointed Education Minister.

A dazzle gone terribly wrong...

Aww, Joe! Good ta see ya! Sounds like a very successful week for the Knights. Way to go on the business!
Is that Denise Jacquet in the last shot? Looks like she was so dazzled, she completely lost her head!
Lovely update! Lot's of skilling and selling, and badge accumulation. IW's and TOC's, but the best bit by far was a decapitated Denise Jacquet. I despise the woman; she's meaner than a cornered rattlesnake. Suddenly I admire Marisa much more.
"Knight's Knicks & Knacks" genius name!
